2021년도 예산안은 코로나19로 인해 위축된 지역경제를 회복하기 위해 확대 편성됐으며 취약계층 보호를 위한 사회 안전망 확충, 민생·고용안정 등 복지시스템 강화에 중점을 뒀다. 특히, 교육 부문의 인프라 구축 및 지원 확대와 문화·체육시설 확충 및 환경개선에 집중 편성하고, 취약계층의 일자리 지원과 소상공인의 경영 안정화 등 구민 체감형 사업에 중점적으로 투자할 계획이다.
