코로나19 대유행이 전국으로 확산되며 12월 4일 9개월 여 만에 처음으로 1일 확진 인원이 600명을 넘었다. 양평군 또한 11월 30일까지 누적 112번째 확진자가 발생한 데 이어 12월 1일부터 나흘만에 16명의 신규 확진자가 발생하며 총 128명의 확진자를 기록했다.

특히, 최근 대부분의 확진자가 개군면 일대에서 발생하며 해당 지역 주민들의 각별한 주의가 요구되는 실정이다.​
