브레이크뉴스 박동제 기자= 전국 시청률 29.8%로 자체 최고 기록을 깨부순 ‘미스트롯2’가 둘 중 한 명은 반드시 탈락하는 본선 2라운드 ‘1대 1 데스매치’에서 상상불허 대이변이 속출하는, 드라마틱한 맞대결을 선보이며 안방극장을 충격으로 휘감았다.

지난 14일 밤 10시 방송된 TV CHOSUN 원조 트롯 오디션 ‘미스트롯2’ 5회 분은 최고 시청률 31.4%, 전체 29.8%(닐슨코리아 전국 기준)를 기록, 자체 최고 시청률을 경신하며 무려 5주 연속 지상파와 비지상파를 포함한 전 채널 주간 예능을 올킬하는 무소불위 광풍질주를 이어갔다. 이날 방송에서는 본선 2라운드 ‘1대 1 데스매치’에 오른 39인의 생존자들이 ‘강 대 강’ 라인업을 꾸려 불꽃 튀는 치열한 경쟁을 펼치며 극강의 긴장감을 선사했다.

먼저 치열한 경쟁률을 뚫고 올라온 39인의 생존자들은 깜짝 ‘그네 퍼포먼스’로 청순미를 발산하면서 하나뿐인 ‘진’의 자리를 향한 전의를 불태웠다. 그리고 첫 번째 ‘1대 1 데스매치’ 주자는 강혜연 대 나비였다.

‘막내 간 대결’에 나선 초등부 임서원과 김태연은 각기 다른 분위기의 반전 무대로 시선을 사로잡았다. 임서원은 ‘너는 내 남자’를 택해 화려한 치어리딩 퍼포먼스에도 흔들리지 않은 가창력으로 호평 받았고, 김태연은 정통 트롯 ‘간데요 글쎄’로 나이가 믿기지 않는 빈티지 감성과 농익은 가창력을 자아내 탄성이 터지게 만들었다. 

마스터들은 선곡 능력에 무대 소화력까지 나무랄 데 없는 두 사람의 무대에 박수를 쏟았고, 김태연 역시 11대 0이라는 압도적 표차로 다음 라운드 진출을 확정했다.

이어 가창력 퀸 김연지와 K-소울 가득한 마리아가 등장했다. 매 라운드마다 부족한 트롯 기교를 지적 받아 자존감이 떨어졌던 김연지는 ‘여인의 눈물’로 절치부심해 완성시킨 트롯 창법을 폭발시켰고 장윤정으로부터 “TOP5에 들어갈 것 같다”는 극찬을 받는 역전 홈런을 날렸다.

끝으로 예선전 진과 선을 차지한 윤태화, 홍지윤의 ‘사실상 결승전’ 무대가 모두의 이목을 집중시켰다. 홍지윤은 윤태화를 택해 “진을 뺏어오겠다”는 당찬 출사표를 날렸고, 윤태화 역시 “너에게 진의 기회는 없을 것”이라는 맞도발로 팽팽한 기싸움을 끌어냈다.
