■ 민선8기 공약 이행률 ‘83.4%’

 

민선8기 출범 2년 6개월이 지난 시점에서 양평군의 5대 군정 방향으로 추진하는 29개 공약 117개의 공약세부사업이 2024년 11월 말 기준으로 65.8%의 완료율과 83.4%의 높은 이행률을 달성하며 군민과의 약속 이행에 최선을 다하고 있다.

■ 환경교육도시 선정

양평군의 비전인 “사람과 자연 행복한 양평”을 만들어가기 위해 환경교육도시 선정을 민선8기 환경분야 핵심 공약으로 지정하고, 지속적으로 추진해 온 환경 보호와 교육  노력의 결실로 2025년 환경교육도시로 공식 선정되었다.

■ 세미원 배다리 재개통과 두물머리 음악제 개최

 

전국 최대이자 최초인 세미원과 두물머리를 연결하는 전통 배다리를 재개통했다. 조선 정조대왕이 사도세자 묘를 참배하기 위해 정약용에게 지시해 한강에 설치됐던 주교를 재현한 것으로 세미원과 두물머리를 선박 44척으로 이어 다리 형태로 연결한 부교이다. 배다리는 정조대왕의 효심과 정약용 선생의 지혜로움을 담아 만들어낸 역사적 의미가 있으며, 세미원과 두물머리를 이어 ‘하나 됨’이라는 메시지를 전함과 동시에 아름다운 정원을 더욱 알리고 대중화함으로써 국가 정원으로 가는 중요한 계기를 마련했다.

양평은 가파른 인구 증가와 함께 대규모 아파트 단지가 조성되고 차량통행이 많아짐에 따라 기존 교통체계와 도로 여건의 수용 한계 및 혼잡도 증가로 주민 불편 해소를 위해 교통여건 및 도로환경을 획기적으로 개선하였다.

The Welfare Administration Award is an award given by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to excellent cities and counties by evaluating local welfare projects of local governments nationwide. At the 33rd Paris Olympics, Yangpyeong County's Kim Min-jong won silver and bronze medals, and Kim Won-jin won a bronze medal. The Yangpyeong-gun Workplace Sports Team has improved the image of Yangpyeong and boosted the pride of the county residents with its brilliant elite sports achievements of winning 18 awards in the 2024 competition (5 international competitions and 13 national competitions).

Established in 1993, the Yangpyeong County Library is the first public library in Yangpyeong County and has been loved by many residents for taking the lead in spreading reading culture. However, the building was old and there was a lack of reading space and convenience facilities, so the county relocated the Yangpyeong County Library and Children's Library to a new building and established the Yangpyeong Library.

 

Yangpyeong Library is built on a 4-story above-ground and 1-story underground scale, and has facilities such as a children's playroom, a book cafe-style reference room, an observatory, a terrace, and a shelter, so that you can enjoy reading and resting in a comfortable atmosphere. In order to improve the online reading environment, the library homepage was completely reorganized to increase stability and provide customized search services for each user, improving user convenience and accessibility. Yangpyeong-gun secured 40 billion won in provincial funds for the ‘3rd Gyeonggi-do Regional Balanced Development Project’, gaining great momentum for the promotion of strategic projects in the second half of the 8th local government. As a part of the 7 strategic projects for regional development and economic revitalization, the county will first promote facility improvement projects for Semiwon, the first local garden in Gyeonggi-do, and create a new entrance space that utilizes the unique charm of Semiwon to establish it as a representative landmark of Yangpyeong and focus on laying the foundation for designation as a national garden.

 

In addition, the plan is to improve the eco-friendly image of Yangpyeong-gun by utilizing the natural landscape through the pedestrian bridge installation project connecting Yangpyeong-eup Mulmangae Neighborhood Park~Yanggang Island~Tteodreung Island and to attract tourists from all over the country to revitalize the local economy.

 

The Yanggeuncheon Creation Project, which people want to walk on, is planned to be promoted with the goal of creating a sidewalk and waterside space that people want to walk on by installing night lighting, improving sewage pipes, and creating vertical garden drop dams and rapid dams for beautiful scenery even at night, thereby turning Yanggeuncheon into Cheonggyecheon. The 14th Yongmunsan Mountain Wild Vegetable Festival, the representative festival of Yangpyeong-gun, was successfully held with the goal of being a festival without disposable products and a festival without bags, attracting 130,000 visitors and generating 420 million won in tourism sales. It won the grand prize in the festival economy category at the 12th Korea Festival Content Awards, and was recognized as a truly excellent festival in Korea.
